Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Bamford Academy, we believe that learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Our trips and visits are an important part of school life, carefully chosen to complement our curriculum and give children opportunities to experience their learning in new and exciting ways. Whether exploring history first-hand, discovering the natural world, visiting places of cultural interest or taking part in creative and sporting experiences, our pupils are encouraged to ask questions, develop their understanding and make memories along the way. Here are some of the trips and visits our children have enjoyed, and the learning experiences they have brought to life.

Year 5 Visit to Jodrell Bank Trip
Year 5 had a fantastic time recently extending their understanding of space during their exciting trip to Jodrell Bank. The children were amazed to see the iconic Lovell Telescope up close and enjoyed exploring the many interactive exhibits throughout the discovery centre. A real highlight of the day was visiting the Space Dome, where they experienced an immersive journey through the universe.

Rock Kidz brings well-being to life through music!
Our pupils enjoyed an exciting visit from Rock Kidz on Tour, who transformed our school hall into a rock concert venue for a day full of music, movement and fun!
Through original songs with important PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) messages, pupils explored positive well-being in an engaging and memorable way. The energetic workshops included dancing, exercise and friendly competitions between staff and pupils, bringing everyone together.
It was a fantastic opportunity to promote the importance of looking after our well-being, building positive relationships and learning important life lessons in a fun and interactive way. A big thank you to the Rock Kidz team for an unforgettable experience!
Year 6 adventure at Robinwood!
Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed an exciting residential trip to Robinwood, taking part in adventurous activities designed to challenge them, bring them together and create lasting memories.
The residential gave pupils the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, work as a team and develop important life skills. Through a range of activities, they built their confidence, resilience, communication and problem-solving skills, while supporting and encouraging one another along the way.
For pupils who were unable to attend Robinwood, team-building activities in school provided a valuable opportunity to develop these same skills, with everyone showing excellent teamwork and determination.
Experiences like these help our pupils grow in confidence, build friendships and prepare for new challenges as they approach the move to secondary school. We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 6 pupils embraced these opportunities!
