Safeguarding for Children
If you are being hurt, treated in a way that makes you feel scared or unsafe, or you feel very alone or unhappy, please tell someone about it so they can try to help you. Talk to someone you can trust, like your class teacher or one of our Safeguarding Team. Any member of staff in school will listen to you and support you, and talk through what can be done to help sort things out.
Remember that you can ring ChildLine anytime on 0800 1111.
What to do about bullying
If you are being bullied by another child please tell someone. Bullying can happen to anyone at any age, at school, at home, on the bus, in the street, online, or on your mobile phone. It might be that someone pushes you around, talks about you, teases you, makes fun of you, hits you or calls you names. No one has the right to hurt you or make you feel bad, and if you are being bullied you don’t have to put up with it, you can talk to someone and get something done about it. Talk to a teacher, your mum, your dad, or someone else in your family.
Cyber bullying is when people are nasty online or on a mobile phone. It is against the law to bully someone in this way and it can be stopped.
You could talk to someone at Childline – ring their freephone number 0800 1111, or call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.

Rules for Safe Online Learning

The Internet is a great place for resources, games and fun! But we must always be aware that it is also a public place and we must use technology sensibly and with consideration to others.
These rules will keep me safe and help me to be fair to others:
- I will only use the school’s technology for schoolwork and homework.
- I will only edit or delete my own files and not look at, or change, other people’s files without their permission.
- I will keep my logins and passwords secret.
- I will not upload inappropriate material to my workspace.
- I am aware that some websites and social networks have age restrictions and I should respect this.
- I will not attempt to visit Internet sites that I know to be banned by the school.
- I will only e-mail people I know, or a responsible adult has approved.
- The messages I send, or information I upload, will always be polite and sensible.
- I will not open an attachment, or download a file, unless I know and trust the person who has sent it.
- I will not give my home address, phone number, send a photograph or video, or give any other personal information that could be used to identify me, my family or my friends, unless a trusted adult has given permission. I will never arrange to meet someone I have only ever previously met on the Internet, unless my parent/carer has given me permission and I take a responsible adult with me.
- If I see anything I am unhappy with or I receive a message I do not like, I will not respond to it but I will show a teacher / responsible adult.
Have fun, be safe…and never share your personal details online! Check out the links below for more advice and fun ways to find how to be safe online:
